Shaggy Moth Cardigan

IMG_0813new1IMG_0788new2IMG_0824IMG_0797

I got this shaggy cardigan vest from Moth! Anthropologie carries lots of their looks, and I’m super into it. I love this shaggy vest because it’s so fun and artsy and totally makes an LBD that much more fashionable! If you look closely, the cardigan literally looks like a shaggy rug (which is why I’m obsessed with it, obviously). Plus, the back drapes open and is super fun and flirty for wearing with jeans and nothing but a bandeau!

Weekend Wardrobe: Black & Lace

Happy daylight savings weekend! I’m so excited for the time change – now daylight will last longer, meaning after work hikes and dinners served outside on my sunny patio! This weekend’s look is perfect for those long sunny days that turn into night. Black mini + detailed blouse, and you’re good to go!

Weekend Wardrobe: Hooded Fur Coat

This weekend’s look is a little confused because, well, I was a little confused. There was finally a forecast of rainstorms and showers for soCal, which made me so happy! I love the fresh smell of a rainy weekend, and was looking forward to brunching in my warm winter ware. But try as it might to rain, the sunshine prevailed for the most part, leading to fashion improvisations on my part. I ended up with the unconventional look of sandaled feet and a fur-lined face–a look that I’ll definitely replicate going forward (no sweaty ugg feet for me, thx)! Made brunching outdoors on an overcast day super comfy and still glam. I know this isn’t a look you’re likely to see on the east coast, but it was perfect for a more chilly, still chic Cali weekend!

Ran into this fabulous chica while brunching at Mattei’s. Her brunch outfit looked super comfy but also so stylish! She was celebrating her birthday and just looked so happy with her oysters and champagne and the beautiful ambience! The best part of her outfit? The striped top is actually her boyfriend’s sweater — she “made it work” because she got cold! WHHAAAAT. That’s the sign of a true fashionista… making it work, no matter the circumstances. Her pants? Fabulous, and from Splendid. Get them here or here.

It’s so appropriate that my dress is made by Staring at Stars because that’s basically all I did last weekend! I kid you not… I stared at the stars, basked in sunshine, and drank and drank wine w my bests! So much fun! I love this dress because it’s long but the slip is super short so it’s still really flirty while appearing long and proper! Downside, it’s tight and not ideal for days of drinking and eating cheese… But then again HAY! Who cares.

PicMonkey CollageIT’S GETTING COLD OUT. When it’s cold, we wear furry hats and fun vests and tights!! Get crazy with different patterns and materials, as long as you keep your colors simple and toned down. I love a red lip in the winter because my cheeks flush so quickly in the cold air.

This Betsy Johnson inspired look definitely caught our eye on the way to lunch! THOSE TIGHTS? Yes, yes, yes. Taking a dark dress and pairing it with funky, patterned tights is what we’re all about as the winter months roll in. Wanna make your look a little more badass? Try a leather jacket and some combat boots. BAD BITCH look, but still classy. We’re into it.

Every year as temps start to drop, I hunt for looks that will keep me warm without compromising style. I love this look because it’s simple and perfect for day-to-night versatility! The warm knit sweater adds an element of casual comfort to an otherwise polished glam, and gets bonus points for being comfy + warm. If you’re looking for a sleeker look, opt for a leather jacket in place of the sweater! The peep-toe booties have a flair that’s flirty and fun, but switch them out for knee-high boots in cooler weather! Tie the whole look together with romantic curls and simple makeup.
