Just so we’re clear: basics aren’t basic. We LOVE basics, all year every year! Keep your wardrobe simple and focus on seasonal accent colors like navy, olive green, and black. Incorporate patterns like stripes or simple geometric shapes to keep things fun yet simple! Love this look on my sis because she kept her outfit super toned down and then threw on those BRIGHT orange moroccan flats as a fun statement.

I’m seeing 1920’s / Boardwalk Empire inspired looks all over the runways and in stores, and I’m personally oogling the sequined 1920’s era dress above for upcoming holiday parties and NYE!
If you’re not sure what to wear for a big upcoming event, but you want to look non-basic and super stylish, try opting for garb from this era! It’s fun and classic and screams fashionista.
For the ladies:
These looks are about being classy and timeless. We love the art-deco jewelry pieces that complement any outfit and clash different metals and gems into single, artistic pieces.
Feathers add a flair of femininity and playfulness. With their soft edges and colorful options, feathers are fun features on clutches, head pieces, and even earrings! If you’re going for a feathery look, wear simple makeup that puts focus on long lashes and flushed cheekbones.
A flapper inspired dress can be both sexy and sophisticated, and simplifies getting ready by calling all attention to itself! Keep shoes tall, strappy, and try to incorporate black/silver/gold hues.
For the men:
Try sporting a hat if you normally don’t – we suggest simple fedoras or boat hats to add instant sophistication to your look.
Wingtip shoes are a must, especially when paired with a fun bow tie or suspenders.
Don’t hesitate to mix and match different colors and patterns – why not try a striped sport coat with light pants and a dark fedora? If you’re really trying to play the part, throw in a Gatsby-inspired cane.
This weekend was crazy busy and filled with art & theater! (So busy that I forgot my camera — tears! — so you’ll have to bare with my iphone quality pics above!!) Inspired by Fall, I wore a flowy tunic dress with shoulder cut-outs and accent sleeves. I love the coral color because it pairs well with neutral makeup and the soft browns of my shoes / bag. Even though my dress is a solid color, I felt that the flowy sleeves were statement pieces themselves, and opted out of much jewelry! I kept the bling to my rose gold rings and the gold chain of my purse. In these pics, I’m sporting strappy sandals, but switched those out for dark tan heels at night!
This weekend was all about being bohemian chic. I wasn’t sure where the day would take me yesterday, so I wanted to be ready for any situation be it casual / artsy / dressy. We ended up going to a street jazz festival (artsy), followed by dinner at one of my faveee restaus (dressier), followed by game night back at home (casual). Turns out my outfit was versatile enough for all!
Since my dress has a patterned lace overlay, I decide to opt out of wearing a belt or any loud jewelry. I kept earrings and necklaces simple, then decorated my wrists with a chunky sequined cloth bracelet and a few bangles (and my Jaw Bone Up Band, obviii).
You may recognize this beautiful babe because, wellllllp, who wouldn’t? She’s fabulous and stylish… and she’s one of our very best friends!
She showed up like this for breakfast with the girls, making effortless look unachievable. Either way, this chica is Fall-ready wearing subdued, earthy tones and neutral wedges. The busy pattern and colors of her dress get all the attention, which is why we LOVE the way she kept her accessories and makeup simple! Skinny belt, single watch, & middle part? Check, check, check!
This girl has it all right! We love love the way she paired two different textures / patterns but stuck to classic, deep color hues. The navy and mustard are beautiful colors that announce the coming of Fall, while the little patterns embedded in her top & skirt are still playful and Summery! This is an outfit for all seasons, so beautifully paired with booties that look comfortable and chic!
Have you started thinking about your Fall wardrobe??
We ran into this adorable chica at brunch and couldn’t get enough of her outfit! She was dressed in a fringed frock that paired extremely well with her booties! We especially loved the way she left her socks exposed!
Throw on some John Lennon inspired shades, and you’re ready to rock. LOVE IT! <3
Greetings from beautiful Spain!! This weekend, I opted for a simple chambray / floral skirt combo. This look is super comfortable, airy, and protects your shoulders from the sun when exploring a new city! I threw on a sequined cloth necklace for a little extra glam, and put my hair in a messy braid to avoid frizz from the nearby ocean breezes. I even wore my skirt backwards (gasp) for an edgier, zipper-in-front look. Simple, fun, and perfect for travel!
This week’s look:
◊ Skirt – Pink by Victoria’s Secret ◊
◊ Chambray – Nordstrom ◊
◊ Necklace – Forever 21 ◊
◊ Sunnies – Street vendor in Granada ◊
◊ Purse – Louis Vuitton ◊
Last night was all about dinner & bar hopping with friends. To get comfortable, I ditched the heels and went with some super cute Joie sandals instead. By the end of the night, I was the last one dancing (and my feet were seriously grateful).
