‘Spice Up Your Life’ Smoothie

So, I may or may not have been listening to Spice Girls when I came up with the title for this post…hehe.

Ever since I got my new NutriBullet blender, I’ve been in the smoothie-making groove. I try to challenge myself and throw random ingredients together, hoping that it doesn’t taste like feet, and there is some sort of nutritional benefit. As of lately, this spicy green drank has been my go-to smoothie, because it is so refreshing and has a little kick to it! I found the recipe on an old sticky note in my room – don’t remember where I got it from, but it was obviously good enough to save. You may be looking at the ingredients with a slight “stank” face, but I promise you, it is not as bad as it sounds! Try it out and let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2-1 cup of spinach or kale
  • 1/2 cup of greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/2 -1 lemon (juice)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • handful of ice
