There is no other way to spend a casual, sunny and cool Sunday, than at brunch with friends! Since I was feeling a bit lazy from the busy weekend, I went for a more laid-back look that would also work well with the weather. This outfit embraces a casual cool vibe with the neutral colors, cuffed denim jeans, and white flowy kimono. I had to obviously top the outfit off with a few of my favorite accessories – reflective sunnies and my TanneryLA bag!
Hope everyone had a great weekend, and is refreshed for another week ahead! Cheers!
This is my attempt to try to stay cool, yet edgy chic, while existing in Los Angeles. Also, the front tuck – business in the front, party in the back – is one of my favorite ways to style a top and pants together. It is a way to define your waist, without making it the focal point. To add, the shorts used to be pants, but I decided to cut them because I couldn’t find black cutoffs that I liked…DIY fact.
Happy daylight savings weekend! I’m so excited for the time change – now daylight will last longer, meaning after work hikes and dinners served outside on my sunny patio! This weekend’s look is perfect for those long sunny days that turn into night. Black mini + detailed blouse, and you’re good to go!
This weekend’s look is a little confused because, well, I was a little confused. There was finally a forecast of rainstorms and showers for soCal, which made me so happy! I love the fresh smell of a rainy weekend, and was looking forward to brunching in my warm winter ware. But try as it might to rain, the sunshine prevailed for the most part, leading to fashion improvisations on my part. I ended up with the unconventional look of sandaled feet and a fur-lined face–a look that I’ll definitely replicate going forward (no sweaty ugg feet for me, thx)! Made brunching outdoors on an overcast day super comfy and still glam. I know this isn’t a look you’re likely to see on the east coast, but it was perfect for a more chilly, still chic Cali weekend!
It’s so appropriate that my dress is made by Staring at Stars because that’s basically all I did last weekend! I kid you not… I stared at the stars, basked in sunshine, and drank and drank wine w my bests! So much fun! I love this dress because it’s long but the slip is super short so it’s still really flirty while appearing long and proper! Downside, it’s tight and not ideal for days of drinking and eating cheese… But then again HAY! Who cares.
Most of the time, I am the person at the holiday parties that is way overdressed. I can’t help that I love clothes and dressing up! Life of an aspiring fashionista… For this year’s holiday party, I decided to mix it up a bit – dress it up on top, but dress it down on the bottom, or what my Grandma likes to call it “a fancy top with raggedy jeans!” haha. I obviously had to “shoulder” my jacket (tip: if all else fails, shoulder it), rock the shades, strap on the studded heels, and flash off my favorite Tannery LA bag to add a little bit more steeze to the outfit :)
IT’S GETTING COLD OUT. When it’s cold, we wear furry hats and fun vests and tights!! Get crazy with different patterns and materials, as long as you keep your colors simple and toned down. I love a red lip in the winter because my cheeks flush so quickly in the cold air.
This weekend was crazy busy and filled with art & theater! (So busy that I forgot my camera — tears! — so you’ll have to bare with my iphone quality pics above!!) Inspired by Fall, I wore a flowy tunic dress with shoulder cut-outs and accent sleeves. I love the coral color because it pairs well with neutral makeup and the soft browns of my shoes / bag. Even though my dress is a solid color, I felt that the flowy sleeves were statement pieces themselves, and opted out of much jewelry! I kept the bling to my rose gold rings and the gold chain of my purse. In these pics, I’m sporting strappy sandals, but switched those out for dark tan heels at night!
