There is no other way to spend a casual, sunny and cool Sunday, than at brunch with friends! Since I was feeling a bit lazy from the busy weekend, I went for a more laid-back look that would also work well with the weather. This outfit embraces a casual cool vibe with the neutral colors, cuffed denim jeans, and white flowy kimono. I had to obviously top the outfit off with a few of my favorite accessories – reflective sunnies and my TanneryLA bag!
Hope everyone had a great weekend, and is refreshed for another week ahead! Cheers!
This is my attempt to try to stay cool, yet edgy chic, while existing in Los Angeles. Also, the front tuck – business in the front, party in the back – is one of my favorite ways to style a top and pants together. It is a way to define your waist, without making it the focal point. To add, the shorts used to be pants, but I decided to cut them because I couldn’t find black cutoffs that I liked…DIY fact.
Since, my sweet tooth has been flaring up a bit, I decided to make a batch of these semi-sweet & semi-healthy treats! They are incredibly addictive – I took them to work and they all vanished within 30 minutes!
They are super easy/quick to make, and can also be used as a great snack, dessert, or appetizer for your next gathering! All you have to do is take a handful of tangerines, your favorite chocolate (preferably semi-sweet), and sea salt (or any type you prefer) — WALA!! Your tastebuds will thank you!
What is your sweet, yet somewhat healthy snack?
What you’ll need:
♥ Semi-sweet carob/chocolate chips
♥ Sea salt
♥ Wax Paper
1. Peel the tangerines
2. Melt the chocolate chips for about 1-2 minutes, but stop every 30 seconds to mix and check consistency.
3. Dip the tangerines in the chocolate
4. Place it on wax paper and sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top
5. Refrigerate for 10 minutes, then ready to eat!
Recently, I have been steadily increasing the amount of sporty I incorporate into my outfits. Adidas and Nike are my sportswear brands of choice, because I love how their pieces are so versatile and timeless. Whether it is pairing Nike shoes with ripped jeans and a tee, or a black/white Adidas tee with a blazer, there are a plenty of ways to be stylish, yet comfy and sporty!
My most recent purchase was my Adidas crewneck, and boy, am I OBSESSED! I wish I could wear it everyday… (“Lizzie McGuire, you’re an outfitter repeater!” – Hope you’ve seen the movie, otherwise, this is awkward). Due to the abnormal gloomy LA day, I paired the crewneck up with leggings, and Classic Adidas (obvi!).
I am curious to see how much I will spend on sportswear by the end of the year…
If you had to choose ONE place in the entire world to go to with a snap of a finger, whenever you needed to unwind, where would it be?
My answer would be Mammoth, hands down. I am sure some of you already knew that based on older posts. Whenever I have an ounce of time, I always make an effort to travel there. I have so much history and so many memories there because Mammoth was a staple family vacationing spot every summer growing up.
We all lead such busy lives, where we are constantly hustling from one enterprise to another. It is extremely important to TREAT YO SELF, every once in a while. Mammoth is my treat. I am completely and utterly in love with this near perfect place.
They have the cutest brewery in the center of town! Most tourists (and even locals) go there after a long day on the slopes or a strenuous hike, and cool off with a flight of beers, which is about $5 (for 6 different tastings) and some snacks (yes, they added an eatery in there)! I highly recommend that you go! The Golden Trout Ale and Double Nut Brown are my favorite! The inside of the brewery is spacious and cozy, but if you want to enjoy the view of the mountains or fresh air, there is a lovely outdoor area with benches to relax. If you are a beer drinker and are interested in visiting the Mammoth area, they are having a Bluesapalooza – Mammoth Festival of Beers. There will be a showcase of the best craft breweries in the country, along with the top blues performers – it’s Mammoth’s biggest events – 4 days of ratchetness… I mean fun! http://www.mammothbluesbrewsfest.com/home
Not many can pull off this denim piece from my childhood, but this cutie sure did! I loved how she paired up the overalls with a striped crop top, black mid platform sandals, and topped it off with a cute messy side braid – such a young and flirty look!
On top of having great fashion, this girl also has her own organic cotton candy, called Bon Puf! Check it out!
Since, I have been incredibly busy at work this week/too lazy to really put in the effort to make anything, I prepped this meal for the week. The only thing you really need to prep are the noodles, which are super easy to make. Go to my past Soba Noodle Dish recipe HERE to see how to cook up the noodles.
While the noodles are cooking, i chop up all the extra ingredients that I want in my salad – you can put anything in there. I stuck with tofu, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes because I enjoy that mix with the soba noodles. When the noodles are cooled and ready, I topped my salad foundation with a pile of noodles, and finished it with a scoop of Thai Peanut Sauce, and a hint of salad dressing. I tend to use a Brianna’s Poppy Seed dressing or Feast from the East Sesame dressing (Costco). Mix that all together and you got yourself a delicious and healthy meal!
When you are on the go, what are your favorite quick and easy dishes to make?
We came across this beaut while she was promoting the feminine classic chic clothing line byVivian Chan.As soon as we spotted her across the room, we knew we had to feature her on the blog! The clean lines and impeccable structure were too good to pass up. Below, she is wearing the “Rosie” skirt, which is pulling a Hannah Montana by giving you the best of both worlds; shorts and a full skirt. The sheer area of the skirt keeps it classy, by revealing the perfect amount of skin. Her “Angelina” top is a modern turtleneck, that is excellent for layering! Most of the time, I am the person at the holiday parties that is way overdressed. I can’t help that I love clothes and dressing up! Life of an aspiring fashionista… For this year’s holiday party, I decided to mix it up a bit – dress it up on top, but dress it down on the bottom, or what my Grandma likes to call it “a fancy top with raggedy jeans!” haha. I obviously had to “shoulder” my jacket (tip: if all else fails, shoulder it), rock the shades, strap on the studded heels, and flash off my favorite Tannery LA bag to add a little bit more steeze to the outfit :)
