Street Style: Fringed Floral Frock

We ran into this adorable chica at brunch and couldn’t get enough of her outfit! She was dressed in a fringed frock that paired extremely well with her booties! We especially loved the way she left her socks exposed!

Throw on some John Lennon inspired shades, and you’re ready to rock. LOVE IT! <3

Weekend Wardrobe: Nordstrom, Forever 21, Neo 39

I know, I know, I am a little late with the weekend wardrobe update! Better late than never, right? On Sunday, my girlfriends and I had a celebratory brunch for a friend who is leaving for Med School!! Due to the hot summer weather, I thought I would keep it cool and classy with a flowy floral dress. I didn’t want to accessorize too much because the dress already draws so much attention with its vibrant colors. Also, I decided to go with shorter heels to give the outfit a more casual/daytime look. How are you staying cool, yet fashionable during these hot summer days? Share with us!

Restaurant Review: Panaria Panaderia

Restaurant Name: Panaria
Location: Calle Ancha 23, Cadiz, Spain
Halfsies Rating: ★★★★☆
Halfsies Bank: $
Genre: Coffee shop / pastries
Great for: Pastries, fresh bread, breakfast, dessert

What we loved: The huge assortment of delicious pastries and freshly baked breads. Everything melts in your mouth!!

What we’d improve: The service is quite slow, and if you show up at the end of the day you’ll have limited options!

What we’d recommend: I’m a sucker for chocolate croissants, so that’s my definite go-to. I’m also obsessed with boules de berlins, little donut holes filled with custard that remind me of childhood summers at the Belgian seaside! I may have had a bag to myself while sitting on the beach with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc! Perfection!

We’re headed home from the splendors of European bake shops, but we’ll be back soon Panaria! What are some of your favorite bakeries, world-wide or closer to home?? Share below!

Weekend Wardrobe #8: Nordstrom, Pink, Forever 21

Greetings from beautiful Spain!! This weekend, I opted for a simple chambray / floral skirt combo. This look is super comfortable, airy, and protects your shoulders from the sun when exploring a new city! I threw on a sequined cloth necklace for a little extra glam, and put my hair in a messy braid to avoid frizz from the nearby ocean breezes. I even wore my skirt backwards (gasp) for an edgier, zipper-in-front look. Simple, fun, and perfect for travel!

Street Style: Printed Skirts

There is nothing I love more than cheetah print…okay, maybe I love margaritas a little bit more, but we can discuss that over happy hour…

A few days ago, I had a meeting at work with this lovely girl (below), and I fell in love with her outfit. So in love, that i had to awkwardly ask if I could take some photos to show all of you!

I loved it not only because it was something that one could possibly find in my closet, but because how effortlessly it was put together! Although, a fairly simple ensemble, it exuded so much character! I have to say that it wasn’t just the cheetah print skirt that caught my attention, but the details of the outfit – the front of her top tucked into her skirt, the loose braided belt, dainty stacked rings on her fingers, and her shoes (heart eyes)! So, don’t be surprised if you see me attempting to rock this outfit sometime soon… with a margarita in hand, of course ;)

Side note: she mentioned that her skirt was from American Apparel!

‘Spice Up Your Life’ Smoothie

So, I may or may not have been listening to Spice Girls when I came up with the title for this post…hehe.

Ever since I got my new NutriBullet blender, I’ve been in the smoothie-making groove. I try to challenge myself and throw random ingredients together, hoping that it doesn’t taste like feet, and there is some sort of nutritional benefit. As of lately, this spicy green drank has been my go-to smoothie, because it is so refreshing and has a little kick to it! I found the recipe on an old sticky note in my room – don’t remember where I got it from, but it was obviously good enough to save. You may be looking at the ingredients with a slight “stank” face, but I promise you, it is not as bad as it sounds! Try it out and let me know what you think!

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2-1 cup of spinach or kale
  • 1/2 cup of greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/2 -1 lemon (juice)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • handful of ice

Enjoy :)

Beauty Review: Younique

Screen Shot 2014-07-14 at 8.38.28 PM As you know, we love trying new things – whether it is food, adventures, or styles, we are always open to discovering new opportunities and experiences. Recently, we were lucky enough to try out Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes and Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders! Usually, us girls, tend to stick with the makeup products we are more familiar with – fearing that our skin might not react well with something new. But, we were so intrigued with what Younique had to offer, we couldn’t pass it up! It was so much fun being able to experiment with these new products, which are quickly becoming some of our faves!

The Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes dramatically enhance and magnify the appearance of your own lashes, with the use of Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers. We feel that falsies could often times be uncomfortable and difficult to apply, whereas, the fiber lashes create incredible volume and length to your existing lashes in an easy 4-steps. We were even able to wear the product in the pool, without it running down our face, or creating a heavy raccoon eye!

To get amazing lashes, follow these steps:
1. Apply a thin coat of your favorite regular mascara on both sets of lashes. Let dry.
2. Then apply an even coat of transplanting gel on lashes.
3. Immediately, before gel has time to dry, apply fibers onto lashes.
4. Lastly, seal the fibers with another coat of transplanting gel.

*When you are done applying the last coat of transplanting gel, feel free to use a mascara comb to get out any clumps.
*To remove, use warm water and facial cleanser.

We also had the opportunity to try Moodstruck Minerals Pigment Powder, which are 100% natural, chemical-free, mineral-based pigment powders that add a little shimmer and shine to your look. The colors we used were “Sexy”, “Confident”, and “Feisty” — and yes, you end up feeling like all 3 when you are done.

“Sexy” is a lighter, peachy shimmer, that could be worn as a summer’s day shade or even lightly applied above the cheekbone, creating a beautiful light and glow to the center of the face.
“Feisty” is a silver shimmer that could be worn during the day or evening. It would be lovely by itself or blended in with a darker hue to compliment a smokey eye.
“Confident” is perfect for a night out on the town! The darker shade can be used for a smokey eye, adding a sultry look.

Now that you are familiar with these awesome products, we recommend that you check out the rest of their beauty line at

If you haven’t noticed, my summer fashion obsessions are kimonos and sundresses! I have been in a very happy mood the past few days, which my outfit clearly displays. The bright colors and the prints are not only a reflection of my mood, but also of the beautiful Cali weather! Of course, I had to throw in my ‘happy’ Pharrell hat, go-to Jeffrey Campbell booties, and statement necklace to add a little kick and dimension to the outfit!

Skincare Favorite: Boscia Black Mask

The product:
Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

The purpose: A peel-off mask that serves as an at home brightening treatment

Why I love it: I’m obsessed with this mask for several reasons! First off, it’s jet black and totally awesome for scaring your fam / roomates. It also goes on creamy smooth, cooling your face in a spa-esque manner. The clay composition of the mask is interlaced with antioxidants that literally suck the imperfections from your skin. The mask gets so tight after the 25 minute period that you can’t even smile! My favorite part by far is taking it off though. The mask forms perfectly to your face, and as you peel, you feel dead skin and excess oil being pulled away (hoorah!). Double bonus? The Black Mask is made paraben, sulfate, GMO, & phthalate free!

Be careful… not to apply the mask too close to the thin, sensitive skin around your eyes! The clay really clings to your pores, and that soft skin can hurt while peeling off the mask!
